ILSeab is a web service of informational support, training and documentation for the benefit of both end (library resources & information) users and librarians of Greek academic libraries.
It constitutes an attempt to create an integrated information system to support Information Literacy in Greece intending to operate as a single central access point (portal) to support both end users and librarians of the academic libraries in the country.
For its development open standards are used, while open access will be provided to all of the following services:
- Educational Information Literacy platforms
- Access to informational and educational material regarding information literacy
- Web 2.0 services for end users
ILSeab is developed and co-financed by the European Union as HEAL-Link’s Project under the “Digital Convergence” Operational Programme of the 2007-2013 NSRF (sub-project 9 titled "Value Added Services for Libraries and Information Services, other Institutions and End Users" being its action 10 "Support End Users of Libraries and Information Centers”).
